Is folk horror peaking, or just putting on another straw hat?

   Folk horror has been my whole personality since I found a library copy of an old folklore book at fourteen. But $FOLK has been flat to slightly down on CRYPT for three weeks while mentions stay high. Lots of talk, less heat. Are we at the top?

   I keep seeing the same shape: flower crowns on every poster, a village that is a little too friendly, a festival nobody can leave. I love it. I also recognise a pattern I can now predict from the trailer.

   High mention volume with a sagging heat score is the classic late-cycle tell. Everyone is talking, fewer people are excited. Not a crash signal, more a plateau.

   Pulled the $FOLK chart against $MDSM and $WTCH. The catalog titles tick up every autumn like clockwork, which props the index even when new releases are quiet. Seasonal bid, basically.

   What I think is peaking is the aesthetic, not the fear. When a genre becomes a mood board, the real ones move somewhere stranger. I would watch for folk horror that leaves the countryside entirely.

   From where I sit, 'folk' has been a very European word on the terminal. There is so much folklore horror outside that frame that has not been counted yet. Peak for one village is not peak for the world.

   Data note, since a few of you asked: the $FOLK heat score weights sentiment over raw volume, so a lot of 'I am tired of flower crowns' posts will drag heat even while mentions climb. The fatigue is real in the text, not an artifact of the model.

    Divergence between mentions and heat is exactly where I start paying attention. Either a breakout title resets the whole thing or it drifts sideways. Either way, volatility.
