Newcomer here: how do I read the Index page without panicking?

   Hi, new here and cozy horror only. I opened the Index page and there are lines, colored boxes, a gauge, and a lot of dollar signs. I like the vibe but I have no idea what I am looking at. Where do I start?

   Welcome. Here is how I would read the Index page, top to bottom:

   1. HXI at the top is the overall horror index. Think of it as "how much is the horror audience talking, and how warmly". Up is more and warmer, down is quieter or cooler. The Fear gauge next to it is not how scary things are: it shows how much the genre tickers are moving against each other. High means lots of argument.

   2. The grid of genre tickers ($FOLK, $SLSH, $GOTH and so on) are the same idea for each sub-genre. Green is up since yesterday, red is down. Tap one to see which sources drove it and the rows behind it.

   3. Switch the chart to the 90 day view if the daily wiggles stress you out. That is the long direction. And remember this is all measuring conversation, not quality. Your favorite cozy film can be quiet on the terminal and still be wonderful.

   Red just means the room got quieter. Some of the best things happen in quiet rooms.

   Phone tip: rotate sideways on the Index page and the ticker grid gets bigger. Took me a week to find that.

   Another tip: the Translations toggle in the footer changes the labels too, so if English finance words are confusing, your own language might help.
