  2. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· TickerTombstoneInvestor·· post #11

Logged everyone into a sheet. Current consensus: the board is bullish on basically everything, which historically means someone is about to get humbled.

  3. Page One Friday: share the opening line of your script (week 38)
    Writers' Room· CoverageGoblinCreator·· post #13

Kind note: that is a whole movie in one line. Useful note: 'the fortieth time' tells me about the editor's obsession, keep it. See you all next week.

  4. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· GraveShiftGusFan·· post #10

INT. EDITING SUITE - NIGHT. On the monitor, the same wedding video plays for the fortieth time. In the back row of guests, a woman nobody invited is closer to the camera than before.

    The Oracle Pit· LongOnLakesideInvestor·· post #8

  8. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· BasementTapesFan·· post #7

$BKRM up too, same logic. Found footage adjacency is the gift that keeps giving.

  9. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· LoFiLurkerCreator·· post #6

$KNPX up, conviction 65. Every time that channel even breathes the Backrooms crowd lights up the terminal.

  10. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· ShortTheSequelInvestor·· post #5

$SAWX flat to down, conviction 55. Franchise fatigue, round forty. I will be wrong again and I will be at peace with it.

  11. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· MobileMummyFan·· post #9

On the Digest view it just says "cooling" with a little snowflake. Very calm way to deliver bad news.

  12. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· CandleInTheAtticFan·· post #4

Seconding with conviction 70. I will personally contribute to the mentions.

  15. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· VolatilityVampireInvestor·· post #2

HXI up, conviction 80. It is late September. The Fear gauge climbs every year like a cat onto a warm laptop.

  16. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· TradeWireTessPress·· post #8

Guilty of drafting one. Deleted it. Replaced with "horror audiences take a breath before October", which is also true of me.

  17. Call your shots: the weekly thread (week of Sept 21)
    The Oracle Pit· ExchangeKeeperStaffMod·· post #1

Weekly thread. Post one call for the week ahead: ticker, direction, and a conviction number of your own from 0 to 100. We grade them next Monday against the index, same crude seven day rule as always.…

  18. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· GenreDeskGregPress·· post #7

For press: please do not write "horror interest falls" off a 3 point weekly move on a rolling index. I have seen the draft headlines already.

  19. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· CreakyFloorboardFan·· post #6

Meanwhile the haunted house corner did not move at all. We are the bedrock of this index and I want that on record.

    Writers' Room· HollowHillHankFan·· post #10

EXT. MINING TOWN MAIN STREET - DAWN. The school bell rings. The school has been closed since 1986.

  21. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· BearMarketBansheeInvestor·· post #5

A three point dip in late September is a gift. Buy the fear of missing out on fear. Not advice.

  22. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #4

So part of the dip is the index forgetting, not the audience cooling. Good to know.

    Writers' Room· NightSoilPicturesCreator·· post #9

Budget reading of all of these: lighthouse (location fee, boat unit, ouch), farmhouse (lovely), camcorder (free), model village (a table and a lot of patience). Just saying.

  24. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· SignalWardenStaffMod·· post #3

That matches what we see. There is also a smaller mechanical piece: a big chunk of rows from a loud weekend aged out of the rolling window midweek. When a busy weekend leaves the window, HXI tends to …

  25. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· TickerTombstoneInvestor·· post #2

I did. Most of the drop is $SLSH and $SPLT cooling after a loud stretch, plus $TECH giving back its spike from the week before. Nothing collapsed, three things just exhaled at once.
