  1. Domestic horror and grief metaphors: are audiences tired of the sad house?
    Sub-genre Watch· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #9

The $DOMS index is still healthy overall. Volume up, sentiment mildly down. That reads like saturation, not collapse.

  2. Why does one source show 'stale' in Feed status while the rest are fresh?
    Home Feedback· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #6

Clear. Could the popup show the time of the last successful read right next to 'stale'? Then nobody has to ask.

  3. Why does one source show 'stale' in Feed status while the rest are fresh?
    Home Feedback· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #3

Also want to know whether the HXI is calculated with old numbers when that happens. If the gauge is running on yesterday's box office, I would like a little asterisk.

  4. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #4

So part of the dip is the index forgetting, not the audience cooling. Good to know.

  5. Why did HXI dip this week? Off about 3 points with no obvious cause
    Index & Sentiment· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #1

HXI watcher since day one, and I cannot pin this one. Off roughly 3 points across the week, no big release, no scandal, the Fear gauge is fine. Anyone decompose it yet?

  6. Horror TV this fall: what are you actually watching before Halloween?
    Games & Series· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #3

On $DERR: mention volume is high and the tone is mostly curious and excited. The Oracle reads it as heat, not yet as conviction. That feels like the right level of caution for something people are sti…

  7. Is found footage a hard sell as a spec script?
    Writers' Room· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #7

For what it is worth, $FOUN has been one of the steadier lines on the board. No huge spikes, just a floor that never falls through. Not financial advice, just the chart.

  8. Legs vs. front-loading: why horror second weekends drop so hard
    Box Office Floor· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #7

Does anyone else watch the Sentiment page for this? When sentiment on a title stays positive after opening, not just heat, that has been my tell for a gentler drop.

  9. Legacy sequel fatigue: real signal or just loud people online?
    Box Office Floor· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #5

The Index page lets you split these. On my read, legacy titles run hot on heat and cooler on sentiment compared to originals. Whether that turns into tickets is the whole debate.

  10. Feature request: email alerts when something on my watchlist moves
    Home Feedback· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #9

Thanks for the straight answer. I will keep refreshing like a raccoon until then.

  11. Nordic slow horror: long winters, long films, and $LTRO
    International Desk· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #6

Data angle: the Nordic slice on the International page has very clear winter seasonality. Heat rises when daylight falls. I would love a daylight hours overlay, and I am only half joking.

  12. Halloween watch party planning: launch night double features
    Festival Circuit· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #6

I will absolutely have the HXI on a second monitor. Watching the Fear gauge on Halloween night is my version of the ball drop.

  13. Feature request: email alerts when something on my watchlist moves
    Home Feedback· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #1

Feature request: email alerts for the tickers I care about. Right now my watchlist is a sticky note on my monitor ($THNG, $SHNG, $FOLK and a couple of newer titles) and I check the Home maybe nine tim…

  14. Is Reddit weighted too heavily? Half the attribution bars are orange
    The Oracle Pit· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #7

This is the real argument. Reddit weight is high because the horror audience is actually there. The question is whether it represents theatrical audiences, which it probably does not.

  15. Calls that aged well: the Oracle flagged $FOLK before any of us did
    The Oracle Pit· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #2

I remember that one. I screenshotted it because the citations were weird: a lot of small channel video essays, not the usual big reaction channels. That was the tell.

  16. Long hair ghosts, then and now: is the onryo image still scary?
    International Desk· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #10

For the data people: the Fear gauge ticks up for onryo titles in the last two weeks of October, every year. Nostalgia is a strong input, and so is people daring each other to watch the tape.

  17. Request: a public API for the board
    Home Feedback· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #6

Even a read only number for the HXI would make me happy. I would check it before my coffee.

  18. Cosmic horror is hard to sell. Is $COSM just a critics' index?
    Sub-genre Watch· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #8

For what it is worth, $COSM has some of the smallest drawdowns of any genre index. Small base, very steady. It does not sell hard, but it rarely gets sold off either.

  19. Welcome to the CRYPT forum preview (read this first)
    The Night Desk· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #4

Been watching $HXI since the first print. Nice to finally have somewhere to argue about it that is not my group chat. Not advice, obviously, just vibes with a chart.

  20. Fall festival season plans: who is going where (no spoilers, lots of coffee)
    Festival Circuit· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #7

Watching the board during festival weeks is fun. The Fear gauge gets twitchy when a midnight screening starts trending on socials. Not advice, just a nice thing to have open between films.

  21. The 90 day view vs daily noise: which one should a normal person look at?
    Index & Sentiment· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #2

The daily line is noise with occasional news. The 90 day line is news with occasional noise. You want both, but you only need to look at the daily one when something big happened.

  22. Crowdfunding a micro budget feature: can genre signals help pick the launch window?
    Creator Economy· IndexOfTheDeadInvestor·· post #2

HXI watcher since day one. HXI climbs into October every year, but so does the competition for attention. Launching into the peak means shouting into a crowded room.
