   The hedge argument breaks when the comedy is not funny. There is no floor under a horror comedy that misses. You lose the scares and the laughs at the same time.

   On the slate side, horror comedy is where you park a film that has to work on a crowded date. It rarely breaks out and it rarely falls apart. Not advice, never advice.

   The low correlation to HXI is real, and partly structural. Comedy audiences show up for different reasons, so fear events do not move them the same way.
